If you find yourself in Fujiyoshida, a visit to Natural Food Cafe Con Brio is not just a meal; it’s an experience that transcends the typical dining outing. Situated at 5335-11 Kamiyoshida, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi 403-0005, Japan, this charming café celebrates the essence of vegan cuisine with a focus on health and flavor.

The café operates with a unique offering, serving only 15 beautifully crafted set meals daily. This thoughtful limitation underscores their commitment to quality over quantity. Each dish is a testament to their dedication to health-conscious eating, crafted with fresh ingredients that showcase the vibrant flavors of Japan. One enthusiastic patron, Yxng Chai, emphasizes the skillful preparation and passionate presentation of each dish, making every bite feel like a step into culinary artistry.

As you enter the café, you’ll be enveloped in a peaceful ambiance, enhanced by the gentle sound of piano music and a decor that harmonizes with nature. Local patrons fill the space, a testament to its popularity, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like home away from home. Lauren Koff described it poignantly, noting the joy of being among locals, further enriched by the availability of an English menu for international guests.

When it comes to the menu, the miso soup stands out as a highlight, with Lauren declaring it the best she had during her trip across Japan. The café also caters excellently to dietary restrictions, featuring gluten-free options like their delectable curry and banana bread, made with rice flour to ensure inclusivity in dining pleasures, as noted by Nysha Chen.

For anyone exploring the majestic views of Mount Fuji, Natural Food Cafe Con Brio is a must-visit destination. Jonathan Morr describes it as a "heaven for cultural, healthy, and vegan people," encouraging you to indulge in its offerings before leaving this beautiful region. The care and warmth from the staff only add to the overall enchantment, ensuring each guest feels valued and appreciated.

Amazing experience, loved everything. We planned our visit to Fujiyoshida just to visit this place. The sets are limited to 15 a day and might require reservations but the staff was kind enough to serve us anyway. They are really passionate about the food and explained to us each little dish. One of the best meal we had so far in Japan has vegan! The location is on the outside of town but the walk made us discover the fantastic Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine! I definitely recommend this place and wish them to be successful!

One of my most favorite meals in all of Japan!! You know it’s a great place when you walk in and it’s filled with locals and everything is only in Japanese. Very thankful for the English menu option though! :) I was so delighted with every single dish and was dreaming of this meal all trip. Absolutely best miso soup I had all two weeks throughout the country! Highly recommend!! It can be hard to find great vegan food in Japan and this place really nails it!

Great service, the staff was sweet and they have vegan food with gluten free options. They confirmed that the curry, pottage, and banana bread (made with rice flour) were gluten free. We loved the ambience too - it was a peaceful cafe with piano music and far from the crowds

I stumbled across this place while walking around the area and it was the best luck! The atmosphere was so cozy and welcoming, complete with beautiful art, vintage decor, and old jazz playing on vinyl. I enjoyed a vegan fruit and nut cake and cafe au (soy) lait. Absolutely delicious! The owner was so kind and worked her hardest to get everyone served in a timely manner, though she was the only one taking and preparing orders. If you visit please be patient and enjoy the time to slow down, relax, and enjoy the music

Amazing vegan food, nice ambience. Location it's a bit off the station, but it's a nice walk to the restaurant. They are off every Monday and Tuesday, and 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month.

Yikes, we booked beforehand so we could eat but they had sold out by 1pm. The owner is definately into music, there was a grand piano in the middle of the room and a double bass at the side. Lunch was a set menu but it was delicious. Everything was so varied and enjoyable to eat. A tofu gratin, chilli sauce dish, deepfried kuruma-fu etc. And the desserts were also delicious. We had the dried fruit tart (really good )and the brownie (soft freshly baked and very good). There's a small shop area selling woodwork items and preserved foods. The windows were a bit small but the food is well worth the visit. We went on a Saturday. I think it's closed Sunday, Mon & Tuesday. Best to call ahead if you want to check this great vegan place. PS the lunch option was called Jimi-jimi (じみじみランチ)It is not shijimi!! lol しじみじゃない (笑)
